LGBTQ+

“Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.”

— Oscar Wilde

Mental health concerns can effect anyone, but research has shown that the impact to the LGBTQ+ community is disproportionate due to stigma, stress from discrimination, and lack of access to competent health providers. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you may have felt judged and misunderstood by mental health and medical providers, and maybe even unsafe.

Whether you are seeking counseling to explore your sexuality and/or gender expression, or to address any other life issue, you deserve a therapist who is sensitive to your unique challenges and will create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to process and explore your situation.

LGBTQ+ concerns include:

  • Coming out

  • Exploring sexual orientation

  • Exploring gender identity and expression

  • Adjusting to a loved one coming out

  • Family conflict / estrangement

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Loss and grief

  • Depression

  • Anxiety
